Dermisil for Pet Ringworm is made from 100% pure extracts. The primary active component is concentrated lime-sulfur. Lime-sulfur is approved for safe use on ringworm fungi by the FDA and EPA. Veterinary clinics world-wide use sulfur as a treatment for chronic dermatophytosis on many types of pets including dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Dermisil for Pet Ringworm is available without prescription.

The active ingredient of BenzaRid Spray is benzalkonium chloride. Ringworm spores can stay dormant and reactivate for up to 18 months. Our customers have asked us for a product to remove ringworm spores on floors, bedding, cloth etc. BenzaRid is a chemical which is commonly used by surgeons to wash up with prior to surgery called benzalkonium chloride. It is the only chemical product we sell, because ringworm fungal spores on furniture, cloth seats, car seats, chairs, floors etc are very hard to treat by natural means and it is very effective against ringworm fungi without the side effects of other products.

Dermatophytosis of Animals - fungal Ringworm infections

Evaluation of topical therapies for the treatment of dermatophyte-infected hairs from dogs and cats.

Seven commonly used, topical antifungal products (i.e., lime sulfur, chlorhexidine, captan, povidone-iodine, sodium hypochlorite, and enilconazole solutions, and ketoconazole shampoo) were evaluated for their antifungal activity on Microsporum canis-infected hairs from dogs and cats in an in vitro study. Hairs were soaked or shampooed in each product for five minutes twice a week for four weeks. Of the seven products used in this study, lime sulfur (the active ingredient in Dermisil for Pet Ringworm) and enilconazole solutions were superior in inhibiting fungal growth; no growth occurred on fungal cultures after two treatments with either product. Chlorhexidine and povidone iodine solutions were effective after four treatments, and sodium hypochlorite solution and ketoconazole shampoo inhibited fungal growth after eight treatments. Captan did not inhibit fungal growth during the test period.
